I am unsure when my love for arcade machines truly began, but it undoubtedly had a profound impact on me when I watched “Wreck-It Ralph” in 2012. The film’s depiction of the arcade world resonated with me deeply, evoking a sense of nostalgia and fascination that I had never experienced as a child (given that I was born in the early 20s). The idea of queuing up to play captivating games, spending time with friends, and losing track of time in that vibrant atmosphere captivated my imagination. While I recognize that the movie encompasses much more than just the arcade setting, it was the “arcade feeling” that truly stood out for me.
Even after the movie had ended, I couldn’t shake off the longing for that authentic arcade experience, despite never having lived it in reality. Several years later, I decided to quench my thirst for the arcade world and unexpectedly found myself working shifts in a local arcade—talk about a dream come true! The mere presence of the “Fix-It Felix Jr.” game, the very one from “Wreck-It Ralph,” was an absolute delight, and I eagerly played it during every break. However, as fulfilling as that job was, I still yearned for something more.
When I embarked on the journey of starting my own business, I knew I wanted to create something extraordinary—a unique way to sell my products and captivate customers’ attention. And in that quest, a brilliant idea emerged in my mind: a claw machine! The allure of the claw machine’s charm, the anticipation of trying to grab a coveted prize, and the joy of witnessing others’ excitement drew me in. It was the perfect addition to my business, injecting a touch of fun and nostalgia that truly set it apart.
Now, I hope when customers visit my market stall, their eyes will immediately be drawn to the colorful, inviting claw machine.
