transport declarations – CMR – Export documents
When you have arranged to pick up goods at our central warehouse (e.g. you arrange for transportation) you may have to provide documents prior to release of goods. This is mandated by the EU or the local taxing authorities. Please see below what is applicable to you :
I am picking up goods and have an invoice with salestax
We do not require any paperwork and we do not provide any additional paperwork. Since you are picking up goods at our dutch warehouse you or your transport agent may have to arrange for customs documents like export or import docs depending on where you transport your goods. Since you paid salestax we are not a vested party to your transportation and we can not help you with transport or customs documentation.
I have a 0% tax invoice and I am (arranging to) picking up goods
When you have a 0% tax invoice this means you are transporting goods to another country. In this case we need proof from you that the goods have left the Netherlands as required by the dutch tax authorities.
You must fill out and sign the transport declaration below and send it back to madeforarcade@gmail.com at least 24 hours prior to picking up goods. You must also provide a signed copy of the CMR prior to picking up goods.
Your transporter should be able to provide a fully filled out and SIGNED CMR. In all cases, madeforarcade.com is not a vested party and we will not provide further documentation for your transport. Please contact your carrier if you require transportation documents (CMR / export / customs etc).

what is a CMR ?
In the context of transport, CMR refers to the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road. This is an international treaty that standardizes the legal framework for transporting goods by road across borders in many European and some neighboring countries.
Key Points of CMR in Transport
- CMR Document: The CMR convention requires a CMR consignment note, which serves as a standardized document for the carriage of goods by road internationally. This document is issued by the sender and provides essential information about the goods, the sender, the carrier, and the consignee.
- Liability and Insurance: The CMR specifies the carrier’s liability, covering situations like damage, loss, or delays in the delivery of goods. It also outlines compensation limits and exemptions, making it easier for companies to establish liability and claim damages if needed.
- Scope: It applies primarily to the cross-border transport of goods by road between CMR member countries. Both carriers and recipients benefit from the uniform legal structure, which simplifies the complexities of international road transport.
- Simplifies Disputes: With clear rules and responsibilities defined, CMR helps resolve disputes related to cross-border road freight efficiently.
The CMR Convention is widely used across Europe, and it makes international road transportation more consistent and legally transparent across different jurisdictions.
