Do I have to pay VAT if I am a European customer outside the Netherlands?
Yes, if you rent a product for short-term use ( 30 days or less) or when you arrange to pick up your order in the Netherlands, Dutch VAT (Value Added Tax) still applies. This is because VAT is charged based on the location where the service is provided or where the goods are handed over , and it is determined by the length of a rental period. Even if you are a business or private customer from another EU country, Dutch VAT must be applied in these cases.
For business customers within the EU who have their order shipped outside the Netherlands and provide a valid VAT number, VAT may be reversed under the EU intra-community supply rules when rental periods exceed 30 days.
