Digital leaderboard displaying live event rankings on a large screen

Turn every game, challenge or activation into a live competition your visitors can’t look away from — a digital leaderboard you control from your own phone, tablet or laptop.

This is a fully customisable digital leaderboard with its own administrator panel. Add and edit entries on the fly, and the board automatically re-ranks itself based on scoring — no spreadsheets, no manual sorting, no AV operator needed on the floor.

Display it however your space demands: on a large monitor, projected onto a wall via a beamer or projector, or kept subtle on a simple tablet or laptop screen. Because it runs on any internet-connected device, the same board can show simultaneously across hundreds of screens at once.

Why it works on the floor

A live ranking does what a static scoreboard never can: it keeps people coming back. Visitors can pull the leaderboard up on their own phones and keep track of where they stand while they roam the event — and the moment they see themselves slipping down the ranking, they return for another go. That repeat engagement is exactly what drives dwell time, longer queues at your activation and more touchpoints with your brand. One competitive table, viewable on hundreds of devices, becomes the gravity that holds a crowd in place.

Branded, controlled, instant

The admin panel lets you change the look and feel to match your event, your brand or your products — so the board reads as part of the activation, not a generic widget. Make a change, press save, and it goes live instantly on every connected display. Run the leaderboard on the big screen and the administrator on your phone, or open them in two browser tabs; either way edits are reflected the moment you make them, on any monitor, tablet, computer, beamer or projector.

Administrator panel for editing leaderboard entries and styling on a mobile device

Also referred to as a digital scoreboard, live event leaderboard or competition ranking display. Custom branding to match your event, brand or products is available as an option, and a live demo lets you play with the settings and preview your own leaderboard in action.

The Made for Arcade digital leaderboard is an internet-based scoring system that keeps track of players and their scores and shows them on a public web page that anyone can view through a unique URL. This manual covers what the leaderboard is for, how to activate it with your invoice number, and how to use the admin panel to add, edit and delete scores and style the public page.

Caution: the leaderboard is publicly visible to anyone with the URL — never post private or sensitive information on it. Free leaderboards may be deleted automatically from 30 days after activation, which erases all stored entries.

Power supply and surge protection

Arcade and entertainment machines are computer-controlled and contain sensitive electronics. Mains power at events, venues and even ordinary outlets is frequently unstable or “dirty” — voltage spikes, surges, sags and brown-outs, flicker, overloaded or shared circuits, generators, long extension runs and the switching of nearby equipment can all push the supply outside the machine’s safe operating range.

You must always connect the machine through a good-quality surge protector, and — wherever the supply is unreliable or the machine must not lose power unexpectedly — through an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). These sensitive machines cannot tolerate power spikes, surges, brown-outs or sudden cut-offs.

Damage, data loss or malfunction caused by power-supply problems is not covered by warranty. Failure to use adequate power protection can lead to machine malfunction and, in some cases, a risk of fire or bodily harm. If you are unsure about your power supply, consult a qualified electrician before use.

Leaderboard description

The Made for Arcade leaderboard is a digital, internet-based scoring system that lets you keep track of users / players and their scores. The leaderboard automatically arranges players from high to low score and is visible to anyone worldwide through a unique URL / internet address.

When more players are added, the leaderboard automatically starts to scroll up and down to show all entries on the board. There is no maximum to the number of players you can add. When adding a lot of players, it can take longer for all the names to scroll into view.

Intended use

The leaderboard is mostly used to keep track of scoring during events. It is typically displayed on large screens or projected on walls so that players and visitors can keep track of scoring.

Risks when using the leaderboard

The leaderboard is publicly visible to anyone who has the URL. As such, you should not disclose private or sensitive information on the leaderboard.

Free leaderboards may be deleted automatically from 30 days after activation. You will then lose all stored information.

Preparing to use the leaderboard

In order to use the leaderboard you need access to the internet to enter the administration panel of the leaderboard.

In a typical setup you would also use a form of display connected to the internet to show the scoring results.

You can also share a link or QR code so that users can see the leaderboard on their phone or other internet-based device.

Activation of the leaderboard

To use the free leaderboard system you must have an invoice number for a purchase or rental from madeforarcade.com, then follow the instructions below:

  1. Request your personal leaderboard activation — a Made for Arcade staff member will unlock your leaderboard online and provide instructions.
  2. Find your leaderboard by using the invoice number from your machine purchase or rental, then visit the following URL:
    madeforarcade.com/leaderboard/<INVOICE NUMBER>/admin.php
This lets you enter the administrator’s panel where you can modify your leaderboard.
  3. Enter your password. Your password is the total price of the invoice number you just entered. In the example below the password would be “375460”. Only use digits when entering your password.
An invoice example showing a total of €3,754.60, giving the digits-only password 375460.
The invoice total (€3,754.60) becomes the digits-only password: 375460.

Questions

Can it be branded with our design?

Yes — most machines can be branded by our design department per your specifications. Simply send your artwork and our team will go to work for you, delivering a turn-key custom-branded solution.

Do you provide warranty on your machines?

Absolutely! Each machine comes standard with a 1-year full service and parts warranty at any of our service centers, no questions asked. You can extend warranty to a full 2 years by clicking the option box above (highly recommended). See our T&C for details.

Do you ship to my country?

Yes — for sales we ship worldwide; for rentals we prefer to limit shipping to Western Europe. And if you have your own carrier account (FedEx, DHL, etc.) you can always arrange to have your order picked up from our service centers.

How are products packed?

For trucking, train or air cargo, crating is needed — check the option box above to add the custom wooden protective crating the carrier requires. If you arrange your own pickup, crating is optional and may save you the cost of having a custom frame built.

Can you pre-load our prizes, tokens or content?

Yes — we can pre-load prizes, capsules, tokens or your own media so the machine arrives play-ready for your event.

Is it plug-and-play, or do we need a technician?

Most machines arrive pre-programmed and plug-and-play; setup takes minutes. For live events you can opt to have tech support as back-up per WhatsApp if you ever need a hand — see our service contract for expedited on-call assistance.
