Then came the “electronic” pinball machine. Big transformers , mechanical actuaters and solenoids where replaced by electronic parts like transistors and diodes. Lightbulbs made room for LED lights, and later electronic pinball machines even had circuit boards built in.

Biggest problems : The technology is still expensive and we still only have 1 pinball game with only 1 playingfield to play on.

At last, there is the virtual pinball machine. State-of-the-art technology with powerful computers built inside and 3 or more large LCD panels with UHD (ultra high definition). This machine can store hundreds or even thousands of playfields and games, it is virtually maintenance-free, cheaper than all previous pinball machines, and can update itself through the internet.
