Koynless cashless payments for arcade machines — no rewiring, no new machine
Koynless is a small, self-contained credit system that wires directly inline with the coin acceptor already inside your existing arcade machine. Players simply scan a QR code or tap an NFC tag, then choose how many credits to buy, and pay by card, iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay or 30+ other methods Mollie provides — the machine fires credits exactly as if a coins had been inserted.
How it works
- Player scans the QR code or taps NFC tag on the machine.
- Picks a credit bundle you’ve priced — e.g. 1 credit, 3 credits, 6 credits.
- Pays securely through Mollie on their own phone.
- The Koynless system credits automatically — same as a coin, no app required for the player.
Why operators choose Koynless
- The money is yours. Payments go directly into your own Mollie account. Made for Arcade never touches or holds player funds.
- Retrofits your existing machines. No need to buy new hardware — Koynless installs inline with the coin acceptor your machine already has.
- Works anywhere with mobile coverage. Runs over its own SIM card, not venue WiFi — no network setup, no relying on a venue’s internet.
- Full online dashboard. See revenue, credits sold and machine status per machine, from anywhere.
- Flexible pricing. Set your own price per credit, with bundle discounts for 3 or 6 credits.
- Your branding on the payment screen. Your logo, your colours, your support contact — never ours.
- Machine location & connection status. Know at a glance which machines are online and roughly where they are.
Who it’s for
Arcade and amusement operators, event and exhibition companies, and venues running coin-pushers, claw machines, pinball or any coin-operated cabinet who want to accept card and mobile payments without replacing their existing machines or losing control of their own payment relationship.

how does it work ?
When you order Koynless you will receive our plug and play hardware receiver. Simply connect the plugs into your machine’s coin acceptor and you are all done.
You can now log in to your very own Koynless dashboard online and connect your Mollie payment gateway account. All payments go directly to your own Mollie account without additional fees from us.
You only pay koynless a flat monthly fee per machine for the telemetry interface – simple, cheap, and very profitable.
The fee structure for your Koynless account is very simple and transparent.
You pay 1 flat monthly fee per machine to Koynless to operate your telemetry data server.
Besides that your payment gateway provider (Mollie) may charge you a small fee per transaction.
There are no strangle contracts as you can cancel your account at any time.
You can set your own pricing per machine credit and even create tiered discount bundles so ultimately it is up to you how you operate your margins.
You can even lower your Mollie percentages by bundling credits for your players. For instance : when Mollie payment gateway charges you 0,20 per transaction and you charge 1,00 per machine credit to your players that would amount to a 20% fee, but if you allow players to buy 6 credits for 5,00 you only have a 4% fee. You can change all these payment settings in your Koynless account.
Koynless vs Nayax
Nayax is a big, established name in unattended payments but may not always the best , cheapest or easiest choice when it comes to smaller setups. — vending machines, laundromats, parking, kiddie rides, and arcade machines can all be converted to cashless payment systems. Koynless is a smaller, more focused system built based on real arcade and entertainment experience and is geared towards simplicity and flexibility. Neither is “better” across the board — which one fits depends on what you actually run and how you want the money to move. Here’s an honest, side-by-side look.
Side by side
| Koynless | Nayax | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the money goes | Directly into your own Mollie account. Koynless never holds or touches your money. | Nayax collects your money, holds it and takes a percentage cut. |
| How it’s priced | One-time hardware purchase, plus a flat monthly telemetry fee. Mollie charges its own small, standard per-transaction fee — the same rate you’d get accepting payments anywhere else — nothing extra added on top by Koynless. | Hardware + a monthly device fee, plus a per-transaction processing fee on top (commonly cited around 2.5–5.9% + a small fixed fee, though this varies by contract and region — worth confirming your own quote directly with Nayax). |
| How players pay | Scan a QR code or tap NFC with their own phone — no separate reader hardware on the machine, no screen to maintain no app to install. | A dedicated card-tap terminal (e.g. VPOS Touch, Onyx) must be mounted on the machine by a technician, with its own screen. |
| Branding on the payment screen | Yours — your logo, your colour, your business name. Players never see “Koynless.” | Runs on Nayax’s own hardware/UI. |
| Retrofitting an existing machine | Wires inline with the coin acceptor your machine already has — Plug and play, no wiring needed. | Also supports a pulse-protocol retrofit on arcade/crane machines — a genuinely similar approach here but nayax needs wiring. |
| Dashboard / telemetry | Revenue, credits sold, signal strength, GPS coordinates, downtime, brownout, trend graphs , payment plans, volume discount credits and machine status per machine. | Nayax Core offers sales reports, trend graphs, and its own loyalty/promotions tools (Monyx Wallet) — a more feature-rich suite, reflecting its broader retail focus. |
| What it’s built for | Arcade and amusement machines specifically , but technically any machine that takes a pulse to add a credit. | Vending, laundry, parking, kiddie rides, arcade, and more — one platform across many device categories. |
| Connectivity | Every device ships with its own SIM pre-installed and active — plug it in and it’s online, nothing to source or configure. | Nayax’s readers are also described as quick, plug-and-play installs. |
Koynless’s real advantages
- The money is yours, directly. Payments land in your own Mollie account — Koynless is never in the money’s path, and never takes a cut of each transaction.
- No per-transaction skim on top of your processor’s own rate. Your cost is flat and predictable: the hardware once, a flat monthly fee after that.
- Fully your brand. The payment screen a player sees is yours — logo, colour, business name — not a third-party terminal’s interface.
- Specialized for smaller arcade/amusement operators — not a generic unattended-retail platform stretched across a dozen device categories.
- Plug in and go. Every device ships with its own connectivity already installed and active.
- No border restrictions. Move devices across borders and it still works ( events – trade shows etc ).
- SIM tech – no wifi. Koynless runs directly on the cellular network and does not depend on unstable wifi at venues.
When Nayax might be the better fit
- You run a mix of equipment beyond arcade machines — vending, laundry, parking — and want one platform across all of it.
- You’d rather have a dedicated card-tap terminal on the machine than rely on a player’s own phone for a QR/NFC flow.
- You want built-in loyalty cards or promotional campaign tools as part of the payment platform itself.
Frequently asked questions
Does Koynless cost more or less than Nayax overall?
It depends on your transaction volume. Koynless’s cost is flat (hardware once, a flat monthly fee, and only your payment processor’s standard rate per transaction). Nayax adds a per-transaction fee on top of its hardware and monthly fees, so the more volume a machine does, the more that difference tends to matter. Get an exact quote from Nayax for your situation before comparing numbers directly. Installation of Koynless is free , Nayax typically requires a certified technician.
Can I switch from Nayax to Koynless on the same machine?
Yes — Koynless wires inline with your machine’s existing coin acceptor the same way most retrofit readers do, so switching doesn’t require a different machine, just swapping the payment hardware.
Does Koynless work without a dedicated card reader on the machine?
Yes — players pay with their own phone via QR code or NFC tap just like they do at any cash register, so there’s no separate reader hardware or screen to install or maintain on the machine itself.
Do I need to buy or set up a SIM card for the Koynless device?
No — every Koynless device ships with its own SIM already installed and active. Plug it in and it connects on its own.
